Are you someone who likes to read a good daily devotional? The strength of a devotional is that it can provide some direction in your daily study of the Bible. Rather than staring at an open Bible and trying to figure out where to begin, the devotional gives you a passage to read and some thoughts related to that passage.
The best devotionals are those that drive you to think more deeply about your personal walk with God. Unfortunately, many devotionals do little more than offer a couple paragraphs of anecdotal wisdom loosely connected with a Bible verse or two. Such devotionals amount to the spiritual equivalent of a TV sitcom.
I’m interested in a different kind of devotional: one that helps people understand God’s Word and then sets them to pondering its implications for their own life. That’s my goal in writing Feet to Follow, Eyes to See.
Just what makes Feet to Follow, Eyes to See so different? I’ll give the answer in my next post.
